THERE IS AN EPIDEMIC

Nearly one third of the developed world's children are overweight or obese. These children are likely to stay obese into adulthood and are at much greater risk of developing mental health issues as well as cancer, Type II diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, which can lead to premature death.

THERE IS A PROVEN SOLUTION

For seven years, the Global Corporate Challenge® has been scientifically backed and clinically proven to improve the health and wellbeing of the corporate world. By developing an effective way to make exercise accessible and fun, the GCC has changed the habits of its participants with compelling evidence. Read more about this here.

In 2010, all the experience and infrastructure behind the success of the Global Corporate Challenge is being harnessed to launch a new and exciting pilot programme that will improve the health and wellbeing of thousands of children, the Global Children's Challenge

BUILDING HEALTHY FUTURES

The Global Children's Challenge is a health initiative designed to get children from all over the world active, and instil in them the habit and importance of daily exercise for the rest of their lives.

Facilitated by teachers within classrooms, the Global Children's Challenge empowers children to change their relationship with exercise, their bodies and the environment. The benefits extend beyond making exercise easy and fun – it compliments the curriculum, covering everything from geography and social studies to history and technology.

Put simply, it's about reaching out to children and addressing the issues now, not shrugging our shoulders and hoping it fixes itself, because it won't.

The Global Children's Challenge starts on September 29 and is for students aged 8 – 12. Sponsored by the Global Corporate Challenge®, the event is free. However, places are strictly limited.
