GET INVOLVED
HOW CAN MY CLASS TAKE PART?
All you have to do is submit your class for entry if you meet the eligibility criteria outlined below. Successful applicants will be notified via email with details on the next steps.
Please note, submitting your class does not automatically entitle them to a place in the event, but it does ensure your class has a place in the draw for selection.
To be eligible for the 2012 Global Children's Challenge™ you must meet the following criteria:
- You are a teacher and prepared to take part with your class. Teachers are expected to take part as a role model for the students. Your enthusiasm, initiative and motivation is vital to the success of the program as the teacher is the driving force
- Your students in the last 3 years of Primary / Junior / Elementary school
- You have regular internet access at school or in your classroom (View IT System Requirements)
- Your class can commit to the entire 7 weeks of the event
There are no fees. The event is completely free. However places are strictly limited. One application per class. Fellow teachers or school staff cannot register on behalf of classroom teachers.
HOW DO WE APPLY
- Registrations will open in June 2012
- Successful applicants will be notified via email
WHAT DO WE RECEIVE WHEN WE GET INVOLVED?
Apart from access to the highly interactive Global Children’s Challenge™ website, each class will receive:
- a Step by Step book and pedometer for each child, plus some spare pedometers for the class (This is based on last year's average class size of 26-28 students)
- Wall map poster
- Student website access
Teachers will also receive:
- Monthly e-newsletters
- Downloadable Teachers Guide
- Access to a range of resources including journey course and quizzes
